River Roeburn Restoration-using In-River rocks to re-train the river flow away from the banks.
The river Roeburn ford on the farm was washed away during the floods in December. The fells, due to erosion and muirburn don't hold rain fall as they should do in a healthy biodiverse system. One of our neighbours runs an environmental ground works business and restored the ford crossing by the technique of moving big rocks around to divert the flow off the banks and deepen the river. Here is Rod's video showing the rock replacement .
